Please give clues, amount of letters(and words) maybe you can get the answers you need. We dont all have this crossword, but if you give the right clues, there are some really clever Xworders on here that can help

Presume this is the former Glasgow Herald.
1a is flesh and blood,
17a is ringman ( not sure why!)
7d is old firm

eiderjag, I agree RINGMAN for 17ac. If RINGMAN is spoonerised, it be MINGRAN i.e. Ming (Campbell) and RAN for sprinted. Andy
