Im stuck on the last two clues, both of which are thematically treated.

1d. Gathering closes entrance to sweat-shop in annoyance

32d Turbans of non-U relative covered in flowers

Ive not given the letters as I think it will be confusing as they're both 'treated'.

What is the thematic treatment and how many letters are in each word?

1d ENDS UP WITH 5 LETTERS AND 32D ENDS UP WITH 4. but that is after they have a word removed which is an item of clothing..

SHIR = gathering, TINES = closes and S for start of sweat-shop.
