Misunderstanding the chicken's motivation (12 letters)

The unfinished-it inspired playing in another musician (9 letters)

No sorry. It's an unnumbered grid where u can't work out where the clues go til all completed. The clues are in alphabetical order so the 12 letter answer is likely to start with a letter from a to e (but probably a d) and the 9 letter one starts with an R.

Ah have just got the 12 letter one it's CROSSPURPOSE.
