Riddle-me-ree time this week, with the Times
most cryptic compiler at their stingiest! I am
left with two answers, if correct, that i cannot
fully parse.
There's 28 Down:- "Viewing devices to get by
going aboard. (6) This appears to be SCOPES.
I can see the "SS" for the ship, but the closest
I can get for the "cope" bit is "cop" for "get".

And 48 Down:- "Old drum that is mainly
beaten after lap-dancers have just started".
This is also (6) and I have TIMBAL for this one.

In each instance, the 2nd, 4th. & 6th. letters
tally with the across answers.

Thank you, mamya and rossim! All is now
clear! I wanted to tie it up tonight if I could
but there always one or two clues I don't
see when this compiler's setting them!
