Yesterday, I received through the mail, a piece of porcelain protected by pages of a 1986 edition of the Daily Express.
Contained therein was a completed crossword.
Should anyone be interested, I have selected a few of the clues:-
1. A strange sounding nest (5)
2. And when the claret's poured out, get
out of the way. (5.5.)
3. Moderates the tantrums. (7)
4. What was out of reach and now is within?
That's an absurd pretence. (7)
5. Everything in it is readily available for the
street artist. (4.6)
6. The gun Albert carried created the
stampede. (4.5)
7. Like the nonsense story of the two
fighters (4.3. & 4)
8. Heavens! it's cold ducks (3)

Sorry! no prizes.
