Aaahh! I think I've got the parsing of the first word in the bonus. Still working on Number 3, though.

I haven't even read the clues yet (just the other posts) but hope to get to them (guests are arriving the day after tomorrow and we're in panic mode). Re all the ads: I'm in the midst of booking places to stay during a hiking trip in Utah, and whenever I go onto this site I'm bombarded with ads for hotels and B&Bs there...hm, some pretty good deals...
