Here we are, two days late. Makes you wonder if RT subscription is worth the bother.

Anyway, all done without too much hassle, although, I did have to cheat to get the Latin name for St Albans.

Hope all are well.

Best wishes

P

Evening all, started crossword rather late this week - husband needed help with log-stacking. Thought it (the crossword that is) quite entertaining but am still gazing at my last one,16ac for which I have -E-T-N-. just cannot seem to get my head round it, although as nobody else has mentioned it I imagine I am being a bit of a dummy. I too had to google Kevin. Hope everyone is well and enjoying some sunshine.

Hi angelcm
It is a long long way away - nearly as far as Pluto - sometimes further.

Hello everyone. Glad to read that some of you have been finding this weeks difficult - like me!! I too had to google 11A and 7D. But meantime I am still stuck with 8A `Allowing access .. etc` (9) and like some others 5D `Frequent tendency....` (9) So help appreciated. I also fell into the `brie` trap for that French cheese!!

Hi mondrian
When you say 8a do you mean 6a?
6 is an anagram, 8 a hidden word.
As you mayhave seen on the thread, some of us are not sure about 5d - particularly the last 7 letters.

Hello chrise. I think I must mean 6A. As I consult you via the local library computer I just scribble my undone replies on the back of an envelope rather than bring the RT to the library so there is plenty of scope for carelessness!! How is your wild flower meadow? I seem to remember you said you had one too. I am busy removing the vegetation to try and make the soil less rich. It is all trial and mostly error here!!

Hi mondrian
The meadow had its first cut in late August. I then keep it mown until I stop mowing for the year - seeds will have been spread and have a better chance of germinating in short grass next spring - the bulbs and most of the flowers are spring or early summer-flowering.
