I think it is Sheila - Victorian being the state of Victoria in Australia - oz slang for female - sheila

I'm sure you're right Chris but as Sheilas are found all over Oz the clue was not quite fair. I know I'm being pedantic but the word 'perhaps' should have been in there somewhere. That would have mislead indicating an anagram too.

I should have said Victorian being FROM the state of Victoria. I admit the clue is a bit misleading but that makes it all the more interesting to solve
