Give me a hand on this one guys, can't seem to see the parse on my last clue.

A?S?E?E? - It's got to be Austere / Severe (Def) but can't see it from 'wind from south and east

PS: It's a DOWN clue if that helps

I was looking for 'Retsua' from the south (reading up in the down clue) + E, but if you ain't heard of it, you just ain't heard of it, and that's the way it is. Thanks again
