Alec Douglas-HOME was PM in the early 60s

Last one was Itch - initial letters in clue,
itch meaning 'dying' to do something.
The actress one was Bernhardt.

21ac is ITCH - initial letters (not well defined, though)

AARGH.

I should have got 1dn and 21ac! I kept thinking that 1dn related to 10ac? As for 10ac don't think I would have got that.
