Our allotment is water logged at the moment, by the way I said 19 letters because that's what you put down after your clue, I understood the clue.

I'm hoping for some dry weather so I can go and spread one of my compost heaps and get my rotovator on it.I also need to take out the sweet corn now it's finished. That goes to the recycling centre as they're like wood and take a long time to break down.

So sorry mrw....did not notice my mistake...must wear my specs.

I'll get my coat as well BBM2 - I'm a sucker for a good surface reading and liked "somehow" as the anagrind, but didn't check the anagram - I'll make a 2nd choice and leave it to the setter to adjudicate.
