Sorry your ckae is late Chris G. I have been communing with our feathered friends in Cornwall. My favourites are Oyster Catchers. So, as I have no idea which ones you specially like, your cake is squishy toffee date cake which needs very little decoration. I have made the top resemble a tide line (complete with stuff to beachcomb) and a couple of models of oyster catchers twinkling along the sea's edge.
I think their calls are some of the loveliest sounds in nature.
