Thank you, Gandolf34 - I now know why it is the answer!
The Red Shoes - anagram of lead actress's name (model indicates make the anagram).
96 - I agree with you, Gandolf34 - an alternative spelling given in Chambers, meaning a kid glove - it fits well (pun?).
Clue 49 comes before 50 but I cannot make anything of it at the moment.
My remaining one is 63 which I assume is a verb with the two meanings as set out in the clue plus the necessary connection to extremities?

For 79, I have a word starting with H and am sure it is correct (in Chambers and very obscure). The whole clue is the meaning. The connection with 78 is presumably to make you think of schooner as a ship.

Suj53. For No. 53 - three small words in the clue make up the anagram - look for an occupation.

Thank you all for the clues but what is the matter with me? Still can't get 32...good hint to think AI made me think second word could be main 62 No clue, only thing that fits to do with cricket field is wicket keeper...yes, that shows how desperate I've become! 63 I have no idea at all 79 So many words for residue but can't get it..looked at lees as that's what is left in a wine glass but maybe it's more simple than that 84 Garbo, synonym for garb + o I think but still not solved it....88 good clue ages ago from dougglos about a word for warm and comfortable or cozy but even with my hot water bottle last night I can't get it....and finally the chaplain at 96, with or without telephone parts I can't get it. Will look in chambers in reference library tomorrow if it's free, see if that gives me any inspiration. So, after I've finished this novel I'd love it if anyone could find a different way of explaining clues to me and others. Lots of eye rolling going on I'm sure. Thanks all

Twinsnan - just got 62 and delighted to share. A cricketer who drops a catch might be called this - or in fact anyone who drops something.

Maisiep I love you! Think we're all stuck on the same ones. I looked at Roget's in book form and on line and still can't get this synonym for residue unless I'm being obtuse. Still struggling with 32 , 88, 96.
