hi felicity re clue 86. Anagram the first 3 words and then google the outcome

Felicity I'm stuck on those two as well, keep trying to get anagram out of 86 and found hundreds of synonyms for openings but still not had the eureka moment. Mind you, still need 31,32,35,44,53,62,63,72,78,79,81,84,86,88,91 and 96 in total so a long way to go. Pouring with rain, have to shower and get to church before 3 but allowing myself a hot chocolate and some time with the quiz first.

Twinsnan. I seem to be stuck on most of the ones you are! No 86 - when you have anagrammed the 1st three words, this gives someone's name which when googled gives another name for him which is the answer. Cannot get the clues given for 91 re openings?? Any hints anyone has for any of the other ones listed by Twinsnan would be appreciated. Still have 22 clues to solve!

Thanks haeremai18 - good to see some of the regulars are still struggling as well as me. Will have another go at the anagram - they are usually the easiest for me to solve but am struggling today. Five more minutes then I MUST get in the shower!

91. Think of what crossword compilers usually mean by the word 'openings'. Count the number of words in the clue following that word.
(please don't kick yourself too hard when you see how this clue works!}

Wilhelmina. Was that a clue for me as if it was it hasn't helped!!!! Think I will give it a rest for a while as not getting anywhere with the 22 answers I still need to find!
