Can anyone explain the word play in this answer?

First person is Scots' fancy man (5)
A?O?R giving AMOUR

Good afternoon, John.
I worked it out as the First Person of "(he/she/it) is" = "(I) AM" + assuming we are Scottish, the Scots' item is OUR item.
and an "amour" is a "fancy man".......
