Last few today :::

20d...Comic Arthur eating hard fruit from tree....?S???Y. This must include ASKEY somewhere but I am buggered if I can see where !

26a...Number in reverse like operator in 9...9 is all to do with blacksmithing, so I guess BLACK could be right but where does NUMBER come into it ?

Mikey, You are right with 26a and are nearly there with 20d. Araucaria has been a bit naughty because it should be 3 & 3 rather than a 6.

mikey, the number is a Latin one in a word for reverse. And the other one is the floaty thing that falls from a certain tree according to my Mum.

Bugger ! I never knew that the seeds from an Ash tree were called Ash Keys...we used to call them helicopters as kids.

Apparently, according to the internet, you can pickle and eat the bloody things !

As Alice once said, curiouser and curiouser !
