Glad to see everyone else found this hard. But bet I'm the last to post a query (closing date Thursday!) ... but I just can't get 10d ("Black, far from bold, shot of commander at the front"): R---N OR 15a ("One could use PR venture to vilify, partly spinning"): --T-R. Anybody out there still interested in 989?! BET both answers are obvious!

Thanks barrycat and ab. Thought I'd be too late to get any response on 989 by now. For some reason I'd fixated on 'public relations' for PR in clue, not 'proportional represenation'.
