12a "up train"

Am I the only person who's never heard of this expression.
Do you say, "I'm just off on the up train to Glasgow?"

It's a golden age of British Rail thing. ALL trains going to London were up trains. ALL trains going from London were down trains. e.g. Edinburgh to London is an up train. London to Edinburgh is a down train.
