HOWDY FOLKS
Greetings and Blessings and Peace be with All.
Sorry I've not been posting for a while but I do look in every week after I've completed the puzzle(usually)and am so slow that all you brilliant and lovely people have gone away by that time and there's no one to talk with(but I ain't missbehavin')
This week I finished this afternoon although I did'nt think it was a particularly easy puzzle,it was clever, witty and not a corny or trite clue to be seen.Congratulations to the compiler!
Pity about the change in the weather,it's gey dreich here in the Lothians today which,I suppose is the same throughout the UK.Ah well, that's just default conditions in computer terms for this part of the world.
What a pessimist!

Anyway here's wishing you,Pipesmoker,Jazzgirl,Oldgal,Mondrian and all you nice people out there the very best of health.

Hi Pipemoker. It's not the holiday to blame - there isn't one this week. I got my RT a day late (which doesn't bode well for next week) so I am amazed you haven't got yours yet. I think it may have got permanently lost in the post so you'll have to ring them up and have a whinge. I'm quite good at that! In fact, I sometimes get asked to do the whinging for members of my family because I'm so much better at it!

Hi, Night Owl. Guess what fell through the letter box this morning. I am now more confused than usual, thinking that today is Tuesday. Still not too many surprises in the crossword, so I'll have to find something else to moan about.

Good to see you back, WEE JOCK.

Best wishes to all.

Glad to see you back with us Wee Jock. We just need Caravaggio and Navigator and Old gal to sign in now.

Despite days of effort off and on I am still stuck on 6down and 16 across. I feel if I get one I should get the other as they intersect. Any help out there?

Hello Mondrian, so glad to be of assistance at last, unless I am too late! 6d An anagram of the ulna honey, excluding one, meaning bad for you. 16ac French for I followed by an anagram of choir - meaning the name of an old city.

Pipesmoker. I was so sorry to hear of your terrible sadness. Indeed such pain has an indescribable rawness. Our greatest concern is for our son and his wife; that they will have to live with this pain for the rest of their lives. They have lost their first-born, and only, child. I hope we can all learn to live more comfortably with the anguish. x

Angelmcm. Thanks. Why, oh why do I fail to see what is right in front of my eyes so often!? I already had that 6D word but couldn`t see how it could be explained! Likewise for 16A. All done now, at long last!

A wee message for Pipesmoker. Sorry to hear of your past and continuing grief. You do seem to have had more than your fair share of troubles. I marvel at your cheerfulness.

Hope we are all having a happy Jubilee Weekend.
