hi Les
You might get more positive and serious feed back by posting on the Answerbank. There is a wider audience there. It could be posted under "health" or just "chatterbank".
Good luck

Thanks jazzgirl

do you have to register with Answerbank or is it a simple log in?

I only wanted to know the name of a film, my friend questioned the titles because they sound a bit risque and he has children, so was just checking with me that they were kosher before starting any downloads.
Very innocent request I thought, maybe won't bother asking in future

Still don't understand the 'Kettle black' reference from tonyw though

Hang on minute!
I suggested that you should not be asking about self harm on this site, yes?
I then explained that this site is open to all,and that anybody could access it,including vulnerable people.
I happen to know a few young people that look on this site for X-word answers.
I did not,for one second, suggest that I was personally affected by it.
You then directed me to self help in different ways, because of my problems?
So I can give as good as I get from people that cannot see me or cannot contact me directly ,I wonder if you can say the same?

You have to register on AB. They send you an email to verify and then you can post on any of their areas.

Cheers jazzgirl,

I might not bother, seeing as it's bringing up stuff for tonyw. Sorry tony, maybe this is actually not the right site for you either

You don't know me tony, but I feel if you did, then you would certainly know that I can stand my own corner when it comes to vulnerabilities and coping with triggers, I no longer drink alcohol due to going over the edge a few years ago, so when some of the regulars talk about "going down the pub" or having a glass of Chardonnay, I don't run to the shop to buy a bottle of scotch or start worrying about my sobriety, but that's just me and you could argue that it's not the same for all other people, which I would have to agree. However, Being quite knowledgeable about relapse prevention and coping with triggers makes me very wary about what I say in the company of vulnerable people, and when I posted the original thread, I made sure to think over what I was writing so that I was not opening any skeleton infested closets for people with Self Harm issues.
I am puzzled though as your original post was centred more on the mention of the word 'Porn' which I feel I have explained clearly with no misdirections towards perversion, and now you seem to be focussing on the self harm issue and this is why I am wondering if your comments are about the possibility of other vulnerable people being troubled or triggered into acts of harming themselves or have you got something going on for yourself.

Les40,my original post does not mention anything about porn, post 6, it was only after I made a comment that you decided to become nasty, and I replied.
I am happy to let this silly contretemps be swept under the carpet and I hope you are.
Cheers Tony

Les 40. Don't give up on your research, there will always be someone who objects. You would get someone object if you were researching candy floss. Best of luck.

My mistake, it was post 8 (your second post) that mentioned 'suggest porn sites' that didn't sit quite right.

I shall agree to bury the hatchet as this seems the most sensible thing to do, I am now going to make my tea and reflect on whether this will hinder our forum buddyness (I know that's not a real word, but I like it)

tonyw, I am offering you a virtual cup of tea and a biscuit to show there's no hard feelings. In the biscuit tin, you have a choice of custard creams, gingernuts or jammy dodgers. please feel free to help yourself.

See ya later, Les

Oh, by the way, I've just printed off Syzzie's latest Harpers Crossword and will be having a go at it, if anyone else is doing it - then I may converse with you later when I get stuck.
