Hello can anyone help with: 27 across: Village idiot finally crushed by stone block (4) S_T_
I'm assuming its SET (stone block) H (end of crushed)
But why is SETH a village idiot?
Thanks in advance
I decided the answer was probably 'sett'. Last letters of 'village' and 'idiot' inside 'st' for 'stone'. The first meaning of 'sett' in the dictionary turns out not be where a badger lives, but a block used in road building.
