I think in post 4 Phillip said that the answer to question 6 was "scan" , to 14 "din" and to 23 "avian". These, taken together, give the word "Scan din avian". I assume then that these three numbers will indicate a Scandinavian connection in other clues...

My apologies, I gave the wrong numbers, although the principle holds...

OK - I obviously didn't get that you had the crossword and these numbers referred to specific clues and answers. I thought there was some code that you had broken and the numbers were in some sort of sequence.

"A lot of the clues today begin with 6 24 13. Any ideas as to meaning.?."
Here is 1 of them, 6 24 13 navigator to call on experience.(6)

Thus I was sidetracked by a misunderstanding of the original query.
