You really should try the Spectator. I'll send the details.

11D FUN "in the RED" (losing money), literally!

23D SENATE = 100 people
SEE = Vatican, diocese
TAN (rev) = sun (verb)

Well done. Next one will be tougher.

Funny, those two I didn't quite u'stand,either!
I fancy Chicago,too: have never forgotten a Thai restaurant near the lake where I was staying with a senior student group -- after a long walk in the cold alone to that market across town & the unforgettable view of the Ch. skyline across moonlike wasteland & railway tracks, I had a fantastic meal there. Also that enormous music book shop. And it was just after the death of Sunnyland Slim, and I had the honour of attending a kind of dirge concert in a jazz club.Take me back!

P.S. I have relatives in Winnipeg I've never seen, but I think the blues scene there is not quite so interesting...

Thanks, Syzzie. Love the use of "in" in the former, can't believe I was so obtuse re the latter.
Gled: Actually, from what Syzzie says it seems as if Winnipeg may be the perfect place to experience the blues. Re Chicago, for me it's the architecture that does it. Astounding.

Everyone's probably busy with the JE.
With the time zones, I'm late to the party again, but have submitted two. The last one's a bugger.
