Merci Bullfrog,

As I posted earlier, I knew the answer was FORCAT as I had heard the word previously but I couldn't find it in my dictionary or on line. Thanks for pointing me to the confirmation. Diolch yn fawr.

Pocket Oxford-Hachette French Dictionary © 2005 Oxford University Press:

forçat /fɔʀsa/

Maybe I'm just a grumpy old man, but is anyone else frustrated by the layout of this quiz. I know it's only twice a year, but I always find I have to spend quite a while changing font sizes and margins so that I can actually print the thing off.

The only meaning for FORCAT in the OED is ‘A rest for a musket’.
I suppose you have to find people of the right calibre?

I thought it might be something to do with Squeeze. It's OK, it's cool forcats.

Goodbye, I'll see myself out.
