For 23a have an answer, 0?a?u?r,but cannot find it in spellchecker or dictionary.Any suggestions please?

The clue is:
More obscure work with a pair of queens(7)

I've got opaquer for that one Ninian.

Work = "op"

Queens "a" pair (2 defs of queen) "qu" + "er"
