Yes, perse is a blue cloth.
May I ask of anyone with a 12th edition of Chambers whether 'clareted' is an acceptable word for 'drank red wine'?

claret is shown as a vi to drink claret, therefore clareted would be correct.

My last one - 21 down, a first-class blue cloth; I have A-E-SE. If it weren't for the 'A' in the clue, ACEUSE would fit but it's not in google.
