Ah, but it's the only one with 18 letters!!!!

Glad I didn't have a rope now.

Brilliant find Trevor - sorry I'm such a prat.

...she whispered quietly in case Torkie or Berspotter's around..

Wendy,
that's exactly what i did and my results were the same.
third on the list aint bad (and the words He, Demise and Quaver were easy enough to spot inside the long word).
the site is sometimes useful but can often return too many results.

knowing a letter or two helps - if you knew that the 2nd letter was an E, then instead of 18 '?'s, you would put ?e????????????????

Wendy, I haven't got the heart to highlight your little whoopsies. They are too frequent and in any case I would feel that I was poking a defenceless creature with a stick.

Oh dear... someone's in a mood again.

Lonely Saturday nights can do that to a person.

Thanks for that link Trevor.

I was on the phone to my mum earlier and she was on a wee rant about some, as she put it "bumtoot" on the Times website boosting that he had finished it by 10 this morning.....and that the 18 letter clue was quite amusing.

Just texted her the answer, if she hasn't yet got it, she will be well made up.

p@

nice to have you back btw.

Pastille, I can't for the life of me understand why you always think anyone (e.g. me)who says something you don't like must be in a strop,on the change, angry, suicidal, lonely, whatever. It could just be that every now and again the endless torrent of meaningless posts from some quarters triggers me off. As you are so fond of saying, you can always ignore me.

Oh Berkspotter, you're such a silly billy!

The thought of you being "on the change, angry or suicidal" fills me with delight.

It's comforting to know that I can summon you up whenever I feel like it too.

I'll let you get back in your box now, have a lovely weekend.

Wendy, that's nice. you think I'm suicidal and that fills you with delight. takes all sorts I suppose.
I'm afraid you can't summon me at will. I ignore most of your inane posts, you know the sort of thing.... " I can't help you, but good luck"...... "I'm stuck on that one as well", etc. I wouldn't have bothered this time either but you more or less invited me to comment.
