Club together at first in approaching notice (9) answer is NIGHTSPOT

How to get to that though? Club is the definition. SPOT is obtained through 'notice' but what about NIGHT?

together at first = t (first letter of together)

I get AM from 'morning', and I guess a 'sucker' is a FISH, but how does 'eat' come into it?

eat signifies one word inside another

I thought that was what the 'in' was for...

ok then I'd say eat in is the signifier, helps the clue read better as linked to make hungry?
