Finished this and all is clear except wordplay in 21a: Reverses large tub, then starts off (8)- just not seeing it. Braced for embarrassment.

Backsets - see back (2) in Chambers

That's the answer I have and assumed there was a definition of back I didn't know. I have Chambers 12th and couldn't find an alternate definition. All I see is back (1).....Ah! There it is! Two pages later! Thanks, bunty. Figured it had to be a vat.

Thanks for the explanations, stevem. I won't submit it though. I'll only do that when I complete it entirely on my own. ie. probably never.
