Very well done Aristo! I thought the short measure of rum was a "tot" which was a very small measure for navy personnel.

A tot wasn't exactly a small measure in the navy. Sailors received half a pint of very strong spirit in a quart of water, served in two instalments during the day. Not for the faint-hearted.
