Hi aristo.
16ac: the "one" refers to raga. 50% = ra.
3dn: it's durga + n
18dn: not back, but hack.

I'm also a bit puzzled by 11ac.

Ah! Thanks, Chips. Never heard the term, but see it (hyphenated) in Chambers. Use one all the time, but call it a chopping block!

And thanks, trusty (though shadowy) peterm. Raga one should have occurred to me. For durgan, thought G was the note and AN was one- "blissful" of Durga, obviously. Will meditate on 11a. Which Hindu god does one appeal to?
