lol..so I hear.
Looking through sleep related medical terms I came across this, I doubt you'll be finding it in a puzzle anytime soon ;)

uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) - an operation on the throat to treat severe snoring and sleep apnea.

I think I've heard the condition called parainsomnia, but when I google it I get parasomnia, which isn't the same thing.

It was on the tip of my tongue Lionheart... Not!
I've heard a golf ball sewn into the back of one's pyjama jacket does the trick, but never tried it.

Looks like it exists, I just suffer from an inability to go to bed when I should!

"Para insomnia is the objectionable experiences or physical events, at arousal from sleep or within sleep and will include behaviors, perceptions, sleep-related movements, emotions, dreaming and involvement of the autonomic nervous system."

That's the same as parasomnia. I did find it, but only by googling it with Smallbone Deceased! It's either para-insomnia or parainsomnia.
