wow, I got sloppy! Yes it should be 'Got', I had 'Get' in there originally and failed to change it in the grid! oops again!

I was wondering what you meant by the NY thing. That's not what I intended, it's supposed to be 'First sign of' meaning 'opening letters of' the ensuing four words. I like your thinking but it could just as easily have been Michael or Michelle ;)

Hi. Well done for compiling this crossword. I really enjoyed the challenge although I had to reveal some letters towards the end to help me out. I couldn't get it to print out but then actually thought it was much better to do it on screen. Look forward to another one!

Thanks Maisie! Strange about the printing problem...did you try downloading from the pdf link at the top of this thread and printing from there? It does require a piece of PDF viewing software but I think most computers seem to come with Adobe these days.

Thanks Lionheart, these should keep me going for a while! I'm also passing them on to my brother who compiles for a local magazine in NE Scotland. I know he'll be very interested and will pick up some tips.
