I put DOWN but not sure what it has to do with 'Immediately'!

I think you're right with the other one being DOWN but I have some difficulty working out why! The only thing I can think is that "immediately" is NOW and "the other clues" are D(own). An anagram of NOW and D is DOWN. Tortured I know but can anyone come up with something better?
