well, 5d is elicited (eli + cited), so no wonder you couldn't do 19a - it's restarts

Many thanks Chips and Kangxi for the answers and explanations. You are right Kangxi, it would be easier if I had got the down clue correct!! Now I have finished - at least I have a letter in every box so fretting is over for another day.
