Good morning! Hope it's a fair mix today. J

I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT+1) to allow others to have a go.

1. Shocking study by surrealist painter on rat (12)
2. Make love with mouth open (5)
3. Difficult assignment for highly regarded fraternity? (4,5)
4. Garishly romanticized tour about exceptionally nice loch (12)
5. Mount badly, justifying stingy withdrawal (4)

Hi Jolan

Thanks as always for taking the time to set clues for us.
These were much easier than last week I thought- and less controversial.

Hope to be back on between 5 & 6.

Cheers

Just you and I, Tony?
Thanks for your interest and the clear explanations. No.4 had TOUR about anag (exceptionally) of "nice loch". You virtually said that, of course.

I hope folk are not losing interest.

That has crossed my mind too. I hope not, after the effort you put in.

Hello Jolan,

I am never usually around on Tuesdays nowadays, but have been a bit poorly today...everybody say ahhh!So had a go later on.

tall order....

That's all I got!

I don't think people are loosing interest at all.

AS I have said before I may not be solving, but every week I'm learning.

Thanks

Good clues Jolan. Managed to get them all, with a bit of a struggle. 3 took the longest.

Ah P&! You're very sweet. XX

Not really! Tony is just an excellent solver BUT everyone has time to have a go (if they want to). Tony never posts before 5 pm so does not affect anyone else.
Thanks for your interest

Thanks Peterm. 3 was a "cryptic" type clue, the cryptic bit being "highly regarded fraternity".

Off to din-din now
