Last couple, any ideas?
20d) Cut grass and remove weeds, say - I'm tired (5-2) H _ I _ H - _ O

29d) Lass crossing canal in this town (7) S _ L _ O _ D

Can't grasp the word play for this one either
35d) Forensic equipment that is spread about, held up by reader (3,8)
L _ E,_ E _ E _ T _ R.
This can only be "Lie detector", but can only see the IE = that is

PS Clue a bit weak - nothing wrong with your analysis -

Cheers Paul, I'm fine pal, Bloody well kicked myself then.....I was in Salford on Friday.

We may have to wait until morning for an explanation on the Lie Detector, it did seem a bit vague

Cheers greedykite,

Yes I did understand the Hay + Hoe Homophones in the Heigh-ho clue, and I sort of toyed about with the lector being a school reader, but the "ted" meaning spread is a new one on me, I did take a look in my Chambers and your bang on the button with your explanation of the answer, Well done. Les40
