Thanks. I actually thought of that answer, but discounted it, because it's not a different way of spelling the first word (as in 13A and 3/4D), but an extra letter.

How many 'well-known' entries are there in the puzzle please?

If I've counted correctly,either 6 or 7 (not sure whether 28a counts)

TommyT - I make it 8. Most of the 2-word answers, plus 13ac.

28ac definitely included.

I can't see an 8th:must we compare lists?
