WOW! No problemo. eh?
Thanks all for having a go. AB, djawhufc, Tony (thanks to everyone who provided top class explanations), TAW (Hi there. Nice to hear from you. Go easy with the 'butter'), Peterm, jazzgirl and the rogue (your posting is after 5).

No, I've never bothered. Am a bit 'long in the tooth now'. Thanks a lot. Makes me feel good.
Who's to notice a 'minute' here or there.

AB, djaw and Tony.
Do you find them very easy or do you have to work on 'em?

I'm away the noo to have a bit of grub.

Bless, J

Hi Jolan

I do think the clues were easier but that could be because I'm getting used to your clueing style. I suppose this week's took about 20 minutes.
I solve the clues for fun and I hope that the explanations will be useful for those solvers who are maybe not very experienced.

I'd hate the thread to become competitive.

I agree with Tony- took me about the same.

I also agree that it is not a competition- next week I wont be so hasty to put my answers up!

Thanks, Jolan. First time I have done it, so cannot compare. Clue 2 took the same time as the other four put together. I'm sure that your witty and tricky clues give pleasure to many across the world. Lang may yer lum reek...

Thanks all for the lovely comments. As my preamble always states it's just a bit of fun and pleasure and nothing competitive at all. I love setting and posting them and I'm 'over the moon' that they give a bit of pleasure in the same way. The explanations are great for those who are learning the art of the cryptic crossie.

Off not to fuel my lum with a sod of turf or two. LOL. See you next week (or as us Celts might add ... IF we are spared!)

Bye
