Quite amazingly whilst giving deep and serious thought to my last post in this thread my thouhts drifted to Cockney Slyming Rang and I did a bit of Googling (no Mamya this is not a sexual deviance) and I tried to dig out the explanation of the term "berk" in the situation where someone is accused of being one.

I was unable to find the official explanation although I understand it to be slyming rang for a part of the female anatomy that Mamya has recently adopoted due the poser double century achievement.

Which,BEGS THE QUESTION (oh no) Which other Cockney slyming rangs are similarly offensive?

Welcome to the thread, fred, or is it, welcome back to the Fred thread.

As you suggest, berk = Berkshire (or Berkley) Hunt.
Your offer (and I don\'t take you the wrong way)- of J Arthur(Rank) is quite acceptable and we just need to arrange a time and place.

Hi Mamya,
hasn't this site become a rude pottymouthed JimB fuelled beast today? back to normal again tomorrow I hope.

I don't believe anyone suggested that your name was cockney rhyme, but as a slang word it does have a certain charm over other more vulgar words.

eg, Adjust your clothing Kimberly, we can all see your Mamya.

or maybe a magazine article entitled "how to get out of a mini cab and keep Mamya in tact"

Well if `Mamya` is to be charming , tasteful or even aristocratic slang , then I demur to the populus
