I found it very easy this week finishing in less than half an hour. I also agree about 22A having first put "FLOW" as an anagram of "Wolf" and meaning "to run". However I soon realised my mistake and got the correct solution.

Good afternoon all! What a change in the weather. Have done quite well (for me) this week and only have 4 unfinished. Shall ponder further and ask for help later no doubt. Off to google tv presenters.....

RT15 forum was a great help last week. I am left with 16a. What am I missing in the clue?

In Greek mythology Hero was a priestess of Aphrodite, and she was in love with (her hero) this person.

I too am stuck on the Hero person. Thanks Torvic for the suggestion about Greek gods etc. I am absolutely hopeless about all of them so will have to seek help with that. Otherwise I have finished. I am sure we have had that French foreign legion hat recently in the past.

Hello Everybody - the answers to this week's puzzle slid from my brain to the grid in a most pleasing manner. Maybe not gaga quite yet.... Mr Pipesmoker Sir, as Charlie likes to call you: he says why on earth wouldn't you want to be a burden? How else are you going to be able to lie on silken cushions and get the servants to bring you all you desire? He suggests you change your mind at once as he believes it really is the only way to live a peaceful and contented life. And he's good at it, I can tell you. Mondrian, for the first time I have the pleasure of offering help with a clue. Hero's hero is also the name of a very prominent Henley Rowing Club. And would someone please enlighten me as to the nature of a] a Sony PS3 and b] an IDAPT i4. Actually I think I can work that one out by myself..

Charlies Human. Thanks for the suggestion re Hero. I got it and I think I would be more likely to have success going down the Greek route than Henley Rowing Club route!!

Karen. We haven`t heard from you this week. Hope you are ok and have recovered from your two accidents. By the way, I noticed that your sister`s painting is on the poster for the Paisley Art Institute Art Exhibition starting on 7 May - well done her.

Thank you for the advice Charlie. I think I will reserve this tactic for when I am even older and grumpier, if indeed it is possible for me to improve in the latter.

RT did not arrive until Thursday, by which time I was in SGH. However, by the grace of God and the good offices of CalMac, I have been restored to my life of idleness. Wolf clue wasn't very clever, but all in all, the crossword held no surprises.

Best wishes to all.

P.

Pipesmoker. Glad to hear you are a bit better now after your treatment at SGH. When you refer to the good offices of CalMac, do you mean the ferry company?

Roll on Tuesday and the next crossword when I hope we will have Karen et all back amongst us.
