Thats my final one Sammy and probably the most logical of the bunch submitted so far...

Im sticking with Mogmog...by tailess I think the clue implies 1 letter off the end..not any number of letters. I may be wrong though (as I frequently am)

No. Mogs for cats (plural) shortened version of Moggys or Moggies
