Hi all,
We have a poet, a poem, an initial entry for 1d and have the instruction from the across clues and can see what the curve must pass through in the final grid, but we're really struggling with the initial grid fill..Would some kind soul give a hints for our last two clues, 4d and 34d ?

Not just any bird Ozzy, a specific type. Check for alternatives for that one in Bradford (or Chambers equivalent).

And stay off the bats .... ;¬)

Lilith - for 34 think Roman dates (like Ides). For 4 think of a fairly standard 3-letter Russian fighter plane and that should be enough to get you there.

Ozzy, It fills the central box, and follows the same sequence as the roman numerals and the original fill.

Well that was tough! We did make it next to impossible for ourselves by removing the wrong brew in 9d and ending up with the wrong container. Many thanks to everybody here who joins the discussion every week. We will try and be as helpful.

I have the poet and extra words/instructions, but still need some help with:
Scary women cut crop applied curlers to son.
King wishes to ban chief portrait painters etc..
Asian medley from sheet lacking force.
I expect I'll kick myself when I eventually get them, but hints would be very welcome!
Thanks.

If you've got the messages then I guess you know what the extra words those cues are.

For crop think birds.
For painters think nautically.
For sheet think paper.
