Speaking of which, let's chage the subject and get back to the apostrophe.
A fiend told me of a trip down to the West Country.
As he was driving along a rural road he saw a sign at a farm gate saying, "Potatoe's".
Some wag had added in chalk beneath, "Twinned with Pommes de Terre".

Not a misused apostrophe, but a sign that always intrigues me, on the M40 on Oxfordshire, advertising 'Farmer's Own Seed'...

Hi Wendy,

I realise why you are annoyed with Mrs Grundy's totally uncalled for comment.

The Lady seems to enjoy a moan.

What else can I say.

Take care

Hi all. Is there really a signpost on the A155 east of Coningsby which reads-
TO OLD BOLINGBROKE AND MAVIS ENDERBY
and did someone add below it
A SON , BOTH DOING WELL.

As for apostrophes -- you cant get lefthanded ones these days you know. How to show that you,ve started so you,ll finish!!!

THE AMBLER, you seem to be confusing your commas with your apostrophes.

Calliewag: You could have had:- "Tom,where John had had 'had', had had 'had had'. 'Had had' had had the teacher's approval." That's 11. Does this pass the experts' opinions?
