Hi Tonyw,

First let me say it was a bit rude of me to answer for Ann (sorry Ann.

There are a great connection with us Celts you know.

And Trevor...

The Welsh language and Gaelic are also similar in a lot of words. As I am also half Welsh and my father was a native speaker, he was amazed a how many words were "soundylikey"

I can only remember the rude ones though, pity.

According to my old English teacher, eejit in an English word, meaning: humanoid-like of celtic origin. But I expect he was joking, mind you he wasn't a very humorous man, hmmm.

Pastille,

Fair enough. But in deference to what goes on on this site can I ask you not to use the word "bait". I believe (Turast told me)that it is associated with trolls. Whatever else I am I am not that.

I don't really know where the word "eejit" comes from but it's heard often around here.
