26 Carnal, as in animal desire. CL. Sri Lanka, and Arna inside..

Brendan, I should have said CL is the abbreviation for Sri Lanka, from when it was called Ceylon.

I have the Chamberd thesaurus app too Brendan but I find it a bit limited. I prefer Bradford's for thesaurus work.

Brilliant, many thanks Malone. Also, for 21d I've got 'Stoolie' (Snout), but elsewhere on this thread people are referring to a 'Box' - any ideas?

Brendan, glad I could help. I wasn't sure of the 'box' stuff - maybe they just meant the tool/rat was contained in the rest of the answer? (I haven't gone back to re-read the comments.)
