I cannot figure a correction to clue 1 that pleases me. If it's liSt, then it seems to hardly improve the clue at all. The def should be equivalent to 'wind personified'

Buzzb, the reference is to Paradise Lost, Book X, from line 699, where Milton gives a list of the classical names of the winds, including the answer to 5ac.

Hi, bunty, yes, there’s a clash in 6dn. Edmund refers to Spenser, and the wordplay is an anagram of n (the middle part of one) + year.

You have nearly got 23dn, but look more closely at “Leaders of union mistrustful” in the clue. The answer is a Latin rather than Greek form of the word.

Bunty - there is a clash in 6. Roughly is an anagram indicator. Edmund is not a king.
23 - almost there but not quite. Leaders of union and mistrustful are U and M.
