i vote for FRANCIS(#2)which was the 1st answer(or the 1st clue?).
Torquemada and Wendy came very close for me. (All 3 on the 1st page!).

Rosalind, i forget exactly what your question was,re.'man friday' but the answer no.

Ok - by quite a margin Torquemada is the winner - and desservedly so in my opinion! Please use post 22 as the basis for next weeks competition. Hopefully we can encourage more entrants as people see the contest.

I apologise for not voting...but I am never usually around on a Friday, of which I would have warned you about...

But I dropped my already clapped out laptop the other day and gave it a severe headache.

After a long lie down, it's seems to be working again.

Glad it all went well. After a very quick perusal, I think I would have gone for Mr Macquizzy's first one.

BTW...not surprised "mine" got no votes, it was pretty crap...but may I point out there is an actually boat/ship/floating thingy called a Friendship Sloop.
