I'm thinking the answer to 46 is ARCHAIC but I can't work out why. Any ideas anyone?

46. I can't see which part of archaic answers the clue, maybe 'old'. It's a word meaning a Mexican sugar. You need a short word for an old man, although not exactly spot-on, then no and another word for tea.

Thank you LadyBee, got it now! I thought the 'cha' in archaic worked, and 'archaic' means old, but I couldn't get the 'no tea' in.
