You're welcome sunray - it's nice for me to be able to help someone else for a change - I'm usually the one needing it!
I've just finished - enjoyed this one. Really clever construction once one sees the theme.

gazzar, those hints were good.

I am still working on 4a, 7a, 26a, 22d.

I think I should have more than 1 letter at 2d, 28a, end of 34a,
But I don't.

Yes, there's more than one letter at 2 D. The preamble should help with the other two - 'along with other....'

I have 2,2 at 1a with second letter S. (Valley girl expression?)
I have 4,2 at 2d with first letter S, coming from Standing.
No conflict.

28a. I have 4 letter answer, begins with W. 19d, 6 letter answer with third letter W.

Is 7a 4 letters? 26a 5 letters?

I tried Google to translate Let him to Latin. It gave me anathema. LOL.

There doesn't have to be a conflict - '... along with other CAPITAL LETTERS to be deduced', have to be highlighted.

The answer to 7 A has four letters, 26 has five. Your answers for 1 A and 2 D have the correct number of letters. What you have for 28 A and 19 D sound correct too.

I was wondering about the preamble 'some cells have 2 letters'. That doesn't mean that a cell can't have three. So I'd say that's ok. I agree about the wrong clue.

So by your logic a cell could have 15 letters in in with no mention in the preamble, and that would be ok? We'll have to agree to differ on that, cloverjo!
